Portegolpe
Real Horse Country
As you head east, away from the beaches, you come into large pastures of ranch land and a small Tico town called Portegolpe. There are a number of working ranches in the area, and fincas (farms) and parcels of land are available for sale at very reasonable prices. Here you can keep your horses on property beside your house, in a pasture just down the street, or at the nearby stables. There are miles and miles of riding trails through this valley. There are also a few wonderful gated communities, like Rancho Cartagena and Venado Hills.
